Poker Flat AMISR operated 105 hours over 18 nights in support of JOULE II and ROPA rocket launches. At right, real-time AMISR data show the strong auroral precipitation and large eastward ion flow that met launch criteria.

TOP, long pulse electron density vs. altitude and time from seven simultaneous AMISR beams; look angles given above each plot. BOTTOM, ion velocity vs. time and latitude for two hours around launch.
